How to upgrade or cancel the Starter or Growth plan

Once you have subscribed to your Hopin Free Plan and realized that Hopin is exactly what you need, it's time to upgrade! Follow the simple steps below.

Note: Although these steps depict upgrading and cancelling the Starter plan, the method is the same if you were to upgrade or cancel the Growth plan, also. 

1. Log into your Hopin account at

2. Click on the Billing tab


3. Scroll down and click Upgrade under the Starter plan tile.


4. Select Proceed to Checkout on the pop-up window.

5. Fill out the required information, including your payment option.

6. You are all set!

Following these basic steps above will upgrade your account to Hopin’s Starter Monthly Plan.

How to Cancel the Starter Monthly Plan

1. Log in to your Hopin account at

2. Select your organization on the left side and click on the Billing tab


3. Scroll down and click Manage Subscription under the Starter plan


4. This will open a new window where it will display your Plan details as well as a Cancel plan button


5. Click on Cancel plan.

Note: Clicking the Cancel plan button will schedule the cancellation of your subscription for the end of your billing cycle. When reaching the end of your billing cycle the subscription will not be renewed and you will be put on the Free plan. Once you are on the Free plan, you will lose access to the recordings and other event data that came with the paid subscription.

Upgrading to Starter Annual

1. Log in to your Hopin account at

2. Click on the Billing tab


4. Select Annual Billing from within the Billing area

5. Click Upgrade


6. Complete payment details. If you tick the box to say "I'm a business" you will also be required to enter your Tax ID or VAT Number. This can look different depending on your country of residence.


Key things to know:

  • The monthly Starter Plan includes 100 registrations per month per organizer while the annual Starter Plan includes 1,200 registrations per year per organizer.
  • Any registrations beyond 100 on the monthly plan cost $0.50 per registration. These are billed on the next month's billing cycle. On the annual plan, registrations over the 1,200 will cost $0.50 per registration.
  • Additional Organizers can be added and come with 100 registrations for $99 a month. This will cost $999 USD per organizer per year for the annual Starter Plan and includes another 1,200 registrations for each new organizer.
  • Note: Any additional Organizers added once the billing period has started, will only generate a prorated invoice. Registrations will be added in prorated amounts as well.

Example: John D signs up for the monthly Starter plan for $99 on January 1st. He receives 100 included registrations with his plan and his invoice anniversary date falls on the 1st of each month thereafter. John D adds an additional Organizer on January 15th. He will be invoiced $49.50 on that date and an additional 50 registrations will be added to his total count. On February 1st, John will be invoiced $198 and his registrations will refresh to 200.

  • If you are an existing Starter Monthly plan holder upgrading to Annual, information about total plan costs, as well as any fees incurred by registration overages during the last month on the monthly plan will be made visible. The organizer will also see how many registrations are expected to be rolled over into their Starter Annual plan from the remaining unused registration balance from their Starter Monthly plan.
