There are occasions when the Hopin Support Team requests more information to be able to troubleshoot connectivity issues to Hopin events. For that reason you may be asked to run a Traceroute to help determine if you can connect to the Hopin website and/or if there are any issues or delays with your internet connection.
Since these steps are operating system-specific, make sure to apply the correct steps to for the system you are currently using.
Run a Traceroute on Windows
1. Press the 'Windows + R' keys on your keyboard to open the 'Run popup menu'.
2. Type 'cmd' (without quotes) and click 'OK'.
3. Type 'tracert hopin.com' (without quotes) and press 'Enter'.
4. Wait for the traceroute to complete, take a screenshot with the results and send it to Hopin Support by replying to the Support Ticket.
Run a Traceroute on macOS
On macOS there are two methods for tracing a domain.
Method 1 - Fast
1. Locate the Terminal app in the 'Applications > Utilities' folder or simply by searching for 'Terminal app' (without quotes) on your Mac.
2. Once found open the Terminal app and type 'traceroute hopin.com' and hit 'Enter'.
3. Wait for the traceroute to complete, take a screenshot with the results and send it to Hopin Support by replying to the Support Ticket.
Method 2 - User friendly
1. Locate the Network Utility app in the '/System/Library/CoreServices/Applications' folder or simply by searching for 'Network Utility' (without quotes) on your Mac.
2. Open the Network Utility app, switch to the 'Traceroute' tab, type 'hopin.com' (without quotes) and click 'Trace'.
3. Wait for the traceroute to complete, in the same window take a screenshot with the results and send it to Hopin Support by replying to the Support Ticket.
