Setting up Conferences.io on the Hopin platform

What do I need to use the Conferences.io app on Hopin?

You’ll need a Conferences.io license. You can request a quote from Conferences.io here.

What are the capabilities of the Conferences.io app?

Conferences.io let you track attendance and keep learners engaged during your event. Issue CE Certificates in a matter of seconds!

This app is currently only available within the Reception, Stage, Session and Booth areas of Hopin.

What plans is the Conferences.io app available on?

This app is available to all Hopin plans.

What attendee data is shared between the Conferences.io app and Hopin?

Hopin shares the attendee’s first name, last name and e-mail with the Conferences.io app.

How do I set up the Conferences.io app?

You’ll need a Conferences.io license. You can request a quote from Conferences.io here.

To get started, you will need to install the Conferences.io app to your Hopin Organization. You can access the app store by going to your Organization Dashboard and heading to the Apps tab. Then click on Discover More on App Store.

You can find Conferences.io under the Polls & Surveys category, or you can follow this link to go directly to the page. Click Install app to add the Conferences.io app to your Organization.

Next, navigate to your Conferences.io account and make a note of the Domain and Session ID values provided by Conference.io. These values can be obtained from the Conferences.io session URL. 

Example:

This is an example URL:

https://at.cnf.io/iframe/sessions/ssg2/

In this instance, these would be your Domain and Session ID:

  • Domain = “at”
  • Session ID = “ssg2”

Make a note of both the Domain and the Session ID.

Next, head back to your Hopin event and go to your Event Dashboard > Venue > Stage (or Session/Reception/Booth) and choose the Event Area that you would like to add the Conferences.io app to.

Scroll down to the "Apps" section and fill in the fields using the Domain and Session ID you obtained from Conferences.io in the previous steps. Make sure you check the box under "Enabled".

Click Save and your attendees will see the Conferences.io tab within the specified area of your event.
